I just wanted to throw in the picture for a laugh. Look at the religious items on the wall, on the bible and of course, the evil xmas tree. I bet the ones that decorated the tree, secretly enjoyed it. Hey how come they have pagan images on their premises? Probably the demons look on and rejoice.

Little mindmines in the Oct. 2017
by days of future passed init is difficult for me to say exactly what i mean on this subject.
my sister sent me a link to the oct, 2017 wt simplified article (which has been discussed about the shunning) and i found it disturbing of course, how the wt gives advice, different for each sex, along with the "unbelieving" mate dissing.. wt - although an unbelieving husband may not take the lead in spiritual matters, he should be respected because of his position as the head of the family.
likewise, an unbelieving wife should be shown self-sacrificing love and tender affection by her christian husband.—eph.

It is difficult for me to say exactly what I mean on this subject. My sister sent me a link to the Oct, 2017 wt simplified article (which has been discussed about the shunning) And I found it disturbing of course, how the WT gives advice, different for each sex, along with the "unbelieving" mate dissing.
WT - Although an unbelieving husband may not take the lead in spiritual matters, he should be respected because of his position as the head of the family. Likewise, an unbelieving wife should be shown self-sacrificing love and tender affection by her Christian husband.—Eph. 5:22, 23, 28, 29.
While a worldly husband is supposed to be respected by the wife, the believing husband is supposed to show self-sacrificing love, tender affection to the worldly wife. Why not love and respect for both? Is it because a JW husband doesn't have to respect his worldly wife's opinion because he is after all, the head? It is also a diss on the worldly husband because he won't take the spiritual lead according to the JW wife's religion. If he does have a belief system this is how it is viewed.
WT - At times, unbelieving mates will demand that children share in pagan celebrations or be taught false religious beliefs. Some husbands may forbid the Christian wife to teach the children from the Bible.
Of course, the Jw mate will only see it as a battle for truth against false. And a JW doesn't just use the bible. They see the WT and all the publications as being factual and more important than the bible. So how clever of the WT to make it seem that the worldly mate, is against the bible!
WT - At first, we may not have told our family about our association with Jehovah’s Witnesses. As our faith grew, though, we saw the need to be open about our beliefs.
Why did they not tell their family? Were they embarrassed or did they simply not even think of it as a topic? Or did they mention it and found their families concerned? But the person conducting the study is the one that will push them "to make a stand". At this point, the study will view concern from the family as persecution and that he must reject them in favor of the "truth"
WT - Have empathy for unbelieving relatives. While we may be overjoyed about the Bible truths we have learned, our relatives may mistakenly believe that we have been tricked or have become part of a cult. They may think that we no longer love them because we do not celebrate holidays with them. They may even fear for our eternal welfare. We should show empathy by trying to see things from their viewpoint and by listening carefully to discern their real concerns.
The WT taking the offense again. JW's will only view their families/friends concern as misguided. Really, their real concerns are that you in a cult. Not that you don't love them because you aren't putting tinsel on the tree.
Have conflicts with your relatives that you love? (because they want to get you out a cult)
WT - If you feel this way, strive to put your loyalty to Jehovah ahead of your love for your family. Such a stand may actually help your relatives to see that applying Bible truth is a life-and-death matter.
It's a life and death matter to the JW, not the family. The WT wants them to tow the line and remain loyal to
Godthem. How sad that we all at some time, had to run the obstacle course laid out by the WT in order to be "approved" of by
Godthem. -

Women must not instruct men, even by singing a theocratic song.
by Ultimate Axiom ini did a quick search and this doesn’t appear to have been commented on here, but if it has been, i apologise in advance for starting an unnecessary thread.. regarding a change to a song title, the study article on page 7 paragraph 17 of november 2017 watchtower explained, “the change of the title “guard your heart” to “we guard our hearts” was most considerate.
in the audience at our meetings, assemblies, and conventions are many new ones, interested ones, young ones, and sisters who by singing the words would be put in the awkward position of telling others what to do.
so the title and the lyrics were modified.”.

Oh Guard Your Hearts you Sons of Men if you would win life's prize ......
Darn the WT has found out our nefarious plan to rule over men all these years.
The old brown (or was that the first green one?) songbook - Take my Silver and my Gold, nothing lord would I withhold... I bet they regret getting rid of that song now. But it was probably stolen from Christendom..

Do you have JW-related dreams (nightmares)?
by compound complex ingreetings, dreamers:.

last night i dreamed i arrived at the site with no books, no lunch, nothing but my car keys.

I've had a few lately. Some about talks that I'm supposed to give - and feeling annoyed and tired at the idea. Wandering in kingdom halls that really aren't. Sometimes seeing JW's I used to know but a great many that are strangers.
The latest dream was about walking down a long muddy street. I saw a Sister that was all smiling and ready to engage me. I knew she was going to try to be all nice and try to get me back to the meetings, so I just chatted about her dress and how I had to be going. But she started following me. So my next move was to show her a top I had bought to distract her. As she was making fake Aaahss over it, I saw it had a rip in it. "oh, guess I have to take it back, better be going" Well she insisted that her husband knew the store that had sold it and so she would give it to him to return it. (I was getting really annoyed by this time)
No that's ok I said, I'll return it. And then I began to walk faster. She started walking faster. Now the street was like a river of mud and I hurried into a building that turned out to be a kingdom hall. As I dashed across it's wooden floor, I left clumps of mud. I was thinking, as soon as I get outside, I'm going to run and leave her behind. But, before I did that, I politely picked up the mud clumps. Then I woke up.
My main problem. I am too nice. I should have just run.

At present, I believe there was a creator/s. But I don't hold to the belief that it was out of love things were created. I don't think it/them were perfect. I think of it more as a scientist/s tinkering with life.
Evolution - is it natural here or it is a planned evolution? Was there a "first" different kind of evolution we know nothing about in other parts of the universe? Who knows, I don't. But all we have at present, is what we experience in this part of space.

Anxiety, OCD, Hoarding, and the JWs
by Spiral ini'm noticing what seems to be a higher incidence of the above among the local jws than in the "general" (read: worldly) population.
i don't say this lightly, my wanderings around the fringes of jw society locally is revealing an alarming trend here.
the poverty doesn't help (there are good jobs, but you need a degree or qualifications to get one).. anyone else see this?

I've known a few witnesses with Panic attacks plus fear of going over bridges. I suffered from anxiety attacks over armaggedon. The witness at work is OCD. The wife of a JW co-worker has tons of strange health issues.
I think there is a correlation between feeling out of control with your life and having these compulsions. As a JW, your life (future as well as present) is dependent on a God who is supposed to be loving, but could just as easily terminate your eternal life for one mistake at the wrong time. It allows you to focus on something else rather than that dark and frightening realization. I'm not saying that there isn't chemical/physical in-balances that need medicine tho.
I don't have that fear any longer, but I have to deal with getting old, losing out on things, etc. Still tough but at least I don't have to feel like the world could be ending everyday.

Will the Watchtower Corporation continue to lie and deceive just to sustain itself into the future ?
by Finkelstein inthe wts has been selling and promoting christ's return and the end times since the late 1800's, right through all of the 20th century and still continues today on the same core doctrinal premise.. 1914 was set as a year of christ taking position upon his heavenly throne followed by choosing the wts as his earthly guided organization in 1919 according to the wts.
leaders at that time.. the actual truth is that the wts is a publishing house and it was inherently pressed to make up doctrines which would gravitate attention to its published goods, accurate and honest bible interpretation was a second lesser concern.. the original heads of this religious publishing house (c t russell) first proclaimed that christ had returned in 1874 and 1914 was going to be the year jesus was going to cleanse the earth of all wickedness etc.
this was obviously a false doctrine tainted with ignorance and a bit of commercialization in reality.. so the question remains what will the wts do in the future, what will the wts do as far as doctrines to allure the general public at large ?

I suspect that behind the facade of the GB, there are psychopaths or at least sociopaths involved in making the decisions. Having a boss that is most likely the psycho, I've found that no matter what lies he's told, he continues to do so, even if he gets caught once in awhile. He doesn't care about anyones health or mental stress he causes with his enormous greed combined with his insecurity. (how lucky are we that this boss hired someone like him - now we have to cope with two)
Considering the 2 witness rule that is plainly bad for honest people and a help for the dishonest, blood rules and give us money till you have none mentality, there is no chance that there won't be more lies and manipulation. Even if it makes no sense.

by Steel inwell , not really.. our hall recently had a secret collection for our head elder who is almost on the verge of becoming homeless.
i guess he lost some cleaning contracts because his clients were just sick of his no shows because of his pioneer work.
there is always something more important to do than earn a living.. this is the same assholes he is always shaming people to not doing enough.

They recently had a WT article that showed an elderly sister, with very little in her refrigerator. They encouraged her (widow giving all in jesus day) to give what little income she had to the contribution box. Yes, rely on
Jehovahcongregation to support you while you give food/rent/healthcare money to us. -

Carla - Funny how it's not ok for the regular JW's to initiate clapping, but ok when the society decides to do it. What's new? But when you're in, you just think the WT is asking you to be humble. You don't even realize how micro managing they are.

April 2018 Watchtower
by Listener inhere's a few little gems from the latest watchtower.. 5 many today think that to be truly free, they must be able to do anything and everything they want to do, regardless of the consequences.. this statement is just ridiculous, any normal functioning individual understands the necessity for restrictions, for their own protection and justice as well as for others.
it's a very childish statement with no substantiation and written only to create a perception in jw minds of how worldly people are selfish to the point of being reckless and unrestrained.
they liken adam and eve's sinning which resulted in disaster as being like a pilot not following their designated flight path and make this commenthowever, if the pilot chose to disregard that guidance and fly any route he desired, the result could be disastrous.. this is a very bad analogy because when adam and eve sinned, they had already been forewarned of their disaster to follow.

If you were to open up the skull of most JW's, their brain would look like a pretzel. That's how I feel when I read that stuff now. Twisted. Thanks for wading through that article.
